Three Months Old!!

It has gone by so quickly!! We are enjoying Winston so much. He smiles all the time (except when we get the camera out!) and his smile just lights up his whole face. His little eyes crinkle up and you can't help but smile yourself.

He likes to eat his fist. He makes the loudest sucking/smacking sounds. It's hard to believe they are coming from him. He still has HUGE burps and about every three days or so, he'll have one that's so big, he scares himself.

He's sleeping well in his crib during the day and is still in the cradle at night. We had made some real progress at sleeping through the night, but he's back to waking up about every 4 hours or so. GROAN!

William has had a nice week alone with him. He can carry Winston around, though just on the carpet. We have enjoyed taking him on walks in the stroller up and down the street. William enjoys getting to push the stroller, but since he can't really see over it, I usually have to help with steering!

Laughing

Winston has just started being ticklish in the last few weeks. Usually he stops laughing as soon as we get the camera out, but I was able to record this - albeit a little lopsidedly since I was doing the tickling and recording!

Bathing Brothers

William and Winston took their first bath together this morning. Winston has been getting baths in the kitchen sink, but he's really getting too long to do it much longer.

I thought the boys needed some extra bonding time since the girls are visiting Grampy and cousins in CA.

Despite William's rib-showing sides, he eats like a horse. Oh, to have such a metabolism! :)

August 3rd size check

We forgot to take Winston's picture on Saturday, so here it is. He doesn't look that much bigger in it, but he is continuing to beef up and he is certainly getting more social. He smiles at us all the time, laughs, and likes to stick out his tongue! He also gives us the "big eyes" look.

New hair, new clothes, same beautiful girl

Caroline spent a week with Spencer's parents to celebrate her birthday (which isn't until Sept. 12) and got to go shopping with Grandma for new clothes. She also got a new hairstyle compliments of Grandma!

Chilca, Peru

Spence and another guy from church were given the task of digging a hole to replace some plumbing pipes. After they had dug up to their knees (or even further - depending on height), another team member approached with quite a sheepish look on his face. Turns out they had been told the wrong place to dig! They had to fill in the hole and dig under where they had put all the dirt from the first hole!! This picture isn't of Spence, but gives you an idea of their job.

They are in the town of Chilca, Peru where there is a small Presbyterian church. The team has been working on putting a new roof on the church and helping with some new plumbing. They will return early Friday morning. I think the bricks and drawn lines in the dirt are for kickball? I'm not sure.

Spence in Peru

I've been able to talk to Spence several times on the phone - thanks to one team member's international cell phone and another's Skype account.

He was telling me that all the kids think that the team members are very ignorant because they can't speak Spanish. He is brushing off his rusty Spanish, which was sketchy to start with! This picture shows him trying to communicate with some of the children.

They are having a good time and will be going back to the same group again tomorrow.

I'll post more photos as I get them.
