Meet and Greet with the President

Of EAA, that is!!
A local plane was there for the event

Rod Hightower is the new president of EAA and has been doing town hall meetings around the country since he started the job.  He was on his way back to WI after Sun n Fun (a fly-in in FL that suffered through a tornado!) and made a stop at the museum.  There were almost 100 people there to hear his presentation and ask questions.  I was able to snap a couple of shots after it was over.

He felt a little too tall next to William, so he kneeled down.  I got the other shot when he wasn't really ready :)

A step back in time

We were on the way home from William's baseball game and saw friends in their 1931 Model A Roadster V8.  They were on their way to the museum and pulled in behind us at the gate to the subdivision.  Barbara invited Sarah for a ride.  She and William got in the rumble seat and rode to the house.  I had called Caroline to bring out the camera and so she got in too.  They all went for a ride around the subdivision.  Fits right in with the book I'm currently reading to William, Wings of the North  published 1932!!

So much fun!  (Winston was napping through it all!)

The car is in beautiful condition and only sputters every once in awhile!

An orderly young man

Winston is already showing signs of his inherited CDO (that's Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder alphabetized)!  We had put all the kids hymn and Bible memory trophies in a box to store in the hangar.  The box wasn't taped up yet and was sitting in the hallway.  Next thing we knew, we found this...

First he lined up all the plants when he pulled them out of the pots!  And now this, the really funny thing was that we put them all back in the box, but left it in the hall.  About 2 days later, he did the same thing!

Storms, rain, and wind

We've certainly had the bad weather lately.  And Spring can't quite decide if it's going to stay or not - we've had beautiful 80 degree days followed by 60 degrees!

Two nights ago, we had a real doozy of a storm.  When we went out the next morning, we saw this tree down just down the road from our subdivision.  And the nearby horse farm had big sections of roof ripped up!  But no damage here - other than a sleepless night from having to share the bed with 2 scared boys!

Sticky face

The other day, we were trying to work a jigsaw puzzle at the kitchen table.  Winston kept trying to take pieces away while we worked.  We finally resorted to putting him in the high chair and giving him jelly beans!  This is what happened.....

Pike County Diamondbacks

William is playing Little League with the local county league.  There are 8 teams in the 7-8 year old bracket.  And some of those boys are BIG!   William is having a great time and got the game ball at the last game.  It's a fun environment where the boys are able to have fun while still learning about the game.  They had a parade down the middle of Zebulun, the county seat, on opening day.  Williams's float was well decorated for the occasion.  The girls and I  ended up standing next to the Chicken from H.J. Wings and Things.  That got a lot of attention from the kids riding the floats who were throwing out candy! :)  Winston enjoyed all the treats.

The beautiful Pike County courthouse.

All the teams were recognized on the field and the first pitch was thrown.

He had his first game that night.  They lost to the Cardinals.

His second at bat.
On the way home, we saw our neighbor out in one of his balloons.

What will he do next?

Please excuse my messy desk:( -Sarah

The other day, William and Winston were taking a bath together.  I left them in there to play and next thing I knew, they were out of the tub, but Winston was no where to be found.  We walked around the house, calling his name.  The door to the girls' room was shut and this it what we found inside - Winston sitting on Sarah's desk, completely naked, with a q-tip in his ear!  Oh mercy!
