The Rock Ranch

We took all the kids but Sarah (who was flown to a friend's house to help her host the Model A club) to the Rock Ranch.  It was lots of fun and we are hoping to go back again while they are having the Fall Family Fun Days.  Winston was a riot on the Gator.  It was my first time through a corn maze.  Laura was a trooper and slept in the baby carrier the whole time!

One Month Old

Hard to believe that I started this blog 3 1/2 years ago to post pictures of Winston as he grew.  Now it's Laura's turn!

She didn't want to cooperate when we were taking her picture.  That big "Gray" head didn't want to stay straight.  First she looked one way,

And then the other!

We finally got her looking up, but she wasn't very happy about it!

She's such a sweet girl!  She is sleeping great at night and has a good long nap in the morning.  In the afternoon and evenings, she likes to be held.  As William says, "She loves physical contact."

We are all enjoying her so much.  Hard to believe a month has already passed.

Milestones

First full day home from the hospital!  This is the quilt that Sarah sewed and gave to Laura as her "growth" quilt - so that we can see how much she grows each month.

Caroline has FINALLY gotten her driver's permit - almost a year after she was able to!!  Congrats to our first born baby girl!  Seems like it was not that long ago that we brought her home from the hospital.

Quick trip to San Francisco

Carrie was able to spend a few days with her brother, Craig and his wife, Donna last week.

They treated her to yummy seafood at a fabulous restaurant in Half Moon Bay

Craig surprised us with the news that he was one of only five partners in his law firm to be invited to a business meeting/wine and dine in London - for Wimbledon!   Whew wee!  Glad we could celebrate with such a beautiful setting and great food.

Their little girl - Pippa - named for Kate's sister! :)
And their guard dog - Ted E. Bear

Getaway to Tampa

At the end of March, we were fortunate enough to have Carrie's Mom agree to keep the kids while we got away for a few days.

I loved all the huge live oak trees.

We took in several Tampa eateries while we were there - Wright's Sandwich Shop, Mel's Hot Dogs and Bern's Steakhouse (just for dessert!) :)
Mel himself even came to our booth to visit for awhile and signed a shirt for Spencer's dad.
Do you think Spence would make a good worker at Mel's? :)

We went to the Dog Races in St. Petersburg
After betting on three races, we quit while we were ahead! :)
This is the lovely guest house that we stayed in thanks to dear family friends.  And below is the home of our hosts.  There was a lovely courtyard that separated the main house from the guest house and the front yard was right on the bayshore.
A lovely retreat from the daily routine!

Sarah's Piano Recital

Last Saturday, Sarah oversaw her first piano recital - as TEACHER!!  Her five students did very well and she was a natural as teacher - welcoming the families and helping her students.

Her oldest student (and best friend) Haley.
One of the mom's offered to coordinate refreshments and brought this lovely flower arrangement.

It was a success all around!

Winston's Third Birthday Flight

Our dear friend, Barbara, arrived Friday afternoon with a present for Winston (a cool truck!) and her Super Cub!!
We had told Winston that he could ride in a "little" plane when he was three.  We made it a few days early so that we'd be sure to have a pretty day.
Being his silly self!

Getting the headset "just right."
Big Smiles!  You can see our house and hangar in the background.  She just parked the plane on the road in front of our yard.

There's Barbara - getting her own seat belt on.  She used to fly in the Powder Puff Races - back in the day.  But she loves flying her Super Cub.

A happy passenger after the flight!  He had a good time and wanted to go again!
Many Thanks to our sweet friend for such a fun memory for little Winston!

Callaway Gardens

 By Sarah

At the end of Feb we went down to Callaway Gardens because Jan and Feb are the months where you can go for free.  The picture above ↑ was taken right after Winston stood on the edge of the dock and decided to pull his pants and underwear down and do his business into the lake...
I really liked taking pictures in the butterfly house. It seems like I took more pictures of the plants in there than the butterflies!!

I thought these flowers were cool

This was my favorite plant/flower of all of them!

Pretty picture

The cool flower again

I went outside the butterfly house and took these next few pictures
