It's OFFICIAL!!

Good thing we are moving to Pike County, GA.  It's true small town America.

The inspector came out today and went through the house and gave us the Official

Certificate of Occupancy!!!

The floors still aren't in and the kitchen is just cabinets with no counters, but we are good to go.  :)

Spence left on a four day domestic trip, so the floors won't be in until next week at the earliest.  So much for moving on Dec. 28 - now we're just hoping to be able to get the big stuff moved before Mom leaves on Jan 8!

We've decided to continue with the unorthodox theme and are going to see how it works to have WOOD countertops!  The formica got to be too expensive with the angled corner where the cooktop goes, so we decided to go with the least costly option - especially if it works out to use some wood that a friend offered to us.  We'll post some pictures with the finished product.  Who knows?  It may turn out like our lot did.  We had a builder come look at it before we bought it to see if it would be buildable and he said, "You know, the unusual ones usually turn out looking the neatest."

The hangar door turned out OK, so I guess the countertops might too! :)

For now, we are officially owners of TWO residences!

New and Improved Hangar Doors!

Those are indeed doors, not just big black holes. They're see-through from the inside.

WE HAVE A TREE!!!

Sarah again. We have a tree. we usually have a real full size tree at Christmas. This year because of the move we are just doing a fake, 3 feet high, rotating Christmas tree. That is all the decorations we have up this year.
Underneath the tree is a Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus statue at the bottom of the tree. The tree is sitting on our side board, so Winnie can't reach it. As you can see in the picture above, that is the table all our Christmas stuff is on. The tree, presents, and a lamp. We have some of our presents in our attic because before we got out the tree we didn't have anywhere to put the presents for showings:}

Greensboro Children's Museum 11.26.10

Hey fellow bloggers. The day after Thanksgiving my mom, William, and Winston went to the Greensboro Children's Museum. Caroline, Leighton (my cousin) stayed at the hotel. Two Thanksgivings ago when my Mom and Dad to Paris my grandparents took us kids to that museum and we had alot of fun. There was this thing where you stood in this circle and you pulled a rope in the center of the circle and up came this bubble around you. It was AWESOME!!! We had alot of fun. Us Girls decided to stay at the hotel this time because we had to work on our magazine.
We make a magazine. We have had different names for it, but I think that we have decided on a name - Gray Today. We put recipes and sometimes we put interviews in the magazine. It is lots of fun.

I think that Winston looks like he is fake smiling:):)

Thanksgiving 2009/2010

Group Photo Thanksgiving 2010

It's Sarah again. This Thanksgiving our family went up to Greensboro, NC to see my dad's side of the family. I thought I could mix this year's and last year's pictures together in one post. Above: This year's family picture. If you want some more detail of our trip Caroline put some stories on her blog.

William and Nate's Domino Tower.
Last year William and my second cousin's fiance, Nate, built a domino tower 14 (I think) stories high. At one point William almost knocked it over getting another domino:) When everybody saw that William was about to knock it over they all gasped:)

Group Photo Thanksgiving 2009
This was the WHOLE group photo taken after Thanksgiving. We had about 25-30 people there:) We have a BIG family!!

This is Ivy at Thanksgiving 2010 and below is Ivy 2009. Big difference.

Katy Murchison (my dad's sister) was pregnant with little Ivy last year. Her husband Fred is standing is the back of the picture below.
Merry Christmas,

Dallas Trip August 2010

Hey, Sarah again. I was going through our pictures and found these of when William, Winston, and my mom went to Dallas, TX. They went and saw my Grandmother and my mom's aunt and uncle.
This is my mom's Aunt Charlotte and Uncle Van and of course William

We have been debating over whether or not we should cut the curls off. You can't really see them her but they are there:) My dad thinks we should cut them off but the rest of the family likes them. We went to Greensboro, NC for Thanksgiving and everyone but my dad's mom said that we should not cut them. So I guess it just runs in my dad's family that they don't like curls:)

Until next time folks,
Sarah Gray

Not quite what we had in mind

We knew going into the building process that we would find some frustrations and difficulties along the way.  But we were surprised when our hangar door turned out to be one of them!!

For 2 precision-oriented people, the arrangement of panels just isn't going to work.  The 2 small panels on the right will drive me crazy, and Spence is upset over the center line of the doors not meeting up with the center of the hangar.

It will be interesting to see how this one gets resolved.

Continued Post!!

Hey, Sarah again. This post is the 2nd part of  'Veterans Day 2010'. Sorry for that, but I don't know what was the matter with it. Maybe it was our computer or just Blogger.

In the last picture of that post. There is a blue Stearman with Yellow wings (2nd from the left).  It was the FIRST Stearman that the Army Air Corp bought from Boeing to use as a trainer!!  Pretty cool!  The museum founder owns it - along with about 4 more really cool planes including a DC 3!  Here is a link to Wikipedia's article on Stearmans. The website for the airpark has some pictures from Veteran' Day if you scroll down on the website. If you go all the way to the bottom there is a picture of the Black- Hawk and in the backround you can see a blue and silver plane. That plane is the museum founders DC-3 (mentioned above).

Veteran's Day 2010

Our Family Picture

Future Pilot

Hey it's Sarah. Last Saturday our family went to the 4th Annual Veterans Day Fly-In. It was so much fun:}The picture above was our attempt of getting a family picture. You might notice that something is on Caroline's face. She had just gotten her face painted with a purple butterfly.

This picture (to the left) is of William in a neighbors plane. My mom took all the pictures except the first one. Caroline and I didn't get to look at the airplanes much because we were serving food in the Hangar - we could hear them, though.
Little Boy, Big Plane

Me and My Butterfly
Caroline and her Butterfly
I got my face painted with a butterfly too. Momma said that it looked like I was raising my eyebrow (my right, your left) :}

Missing Man Formation

Every year the Museum has Stearmans come and do a Missing Man Formation. If you are not familiar with it, it is where 3 planes do a fly-by and have a missing slot (see picture to left) to recognize the men and women who have died.

A Black Hawk came and landed in a field and was on display.
UH-60 Black Hawk Helicopter
More Stearmans. I don't know what is wrong with this post but since I have pictures I can't type in the places I want to      type in. I have more to write so I will continue in another post.  I can't even type except on Captions. It was working before but now it's Not:(So Long Folks.
