The Deed is Done!

Sarah always likes to start her posts with "Sarah, here."  So, I guess I'd better start with "Carrie, here."   :)  The title of the post refers to the color of the main room in the new house.  It's a big room - kitchen, eating area, living room, and 2 halls.  So we deliberated long and hard about what color to use.  Thanks to Laura, we were able to try lots of samples (shown in an earlier post).  We ended up using "Tea Light."  Spence voted for the Man Color - BROWN.  But since it's mostly my "office," I overruled and picked yellow.  It's a nice happy color.  I just hope we like it, because there are 2 beautiful coats on the walls now!!

We have doors now!!!  Lots of pocket doors - shown above without the trim.  And lots of swing doors.  The one below is shown from the inside of the girl's room.  It's the biggest door in the house - 3 feet.  The rest are smaller and go all the way down to a 2 foot pocket door for the shower room (2nd to last picture below).
The success of today was largely due to JOHN!!!  We had to call in a professional to fix the ceiling in the main room (it looked like it had stripes!!)  And while he was there, we figured we'd better just have him keep going.  He painted the main room and the boy's room.  YEAH!!  Of course, helper, William, also pitched in today - sweeping up sheetrock dust.  Do you think he looks like an alien?
The photo above is the kid's tub/shower.  Good thing they aren't big kids, because there's not lots of room in there! :)  The photo below is the whole hall/kid's bathroom.  There are 2 sinks, a room for the shower (on the right) and a room for the toilet (on the left).  The idea was to have it as useable for 4 kids as possible.  The toilet room floor is wet from where I had to sponge mop it in preparation for the flooring.  The plan is that Spence will be able to put in the flooring and the toilet before the bonfire this weekend.  Keep your fingers crossed!  :)
